What is Joint Pain?
Joint pain refers to discomfort, aches, and soreness in any of the body's joints, often resulting from an illness or injury.
Common causes include arthritis, injuries, inflammatory diseases, cancer, or wear and tear due to age or overuse.
Symptoms requiring management include persistent or severe joint pain, swelling, warmth, tenderness, or reduced range of motion.
Diagnosis involves a physical examination, patient history, and potentially imaging tests like X-rays, or blood tests.
Conservative treatments include rest, ice, compression, elevation, pain relief medications, and physical therapy.
Interventional treatments can include steroid injections, platelet rich plasma injections, nerve blocks, or radiofrequency ablation.
The goal is to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, improve joint function, and enhance the patient's quality of life.
