What is Neck Pain?
Neck pain is discomfort in any of the structures in the neck, which can range from mild to severe.
Common causes include poor posture, overuse, neck strain, osteoarthritis, or injuries such as whiplash.
Symptoms requiring management include persistent or severe neck pain, stiffness, headaches, or difficulty moving the head.
Diagnosis involves a physical examination, patient history, and potentially imaging tests like X-rays or MRI.
Conservative treatments include rest, physical therapy, over-the-counter pain relievers, and maintaining good posture.
Interventional treatments can include nerve blocks, steroid injections, orthobiologic therapies, or in some cases, surgery.
The goal is to reduce pain, restore function, and improve the patient's quality of life.
